Mark Ross
CONSULTANT PLANNER
Mark is a Consultant Planner who commenced his planner career in 2001 with North Shore City Council. He holds a Bachelor of Science, specialising in resource and environmental planning and is a full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute.
Mark worked in the United Kingdom for several local authorities in contract planning roles, processing applications from single-story rear extensions to multi-million-dollar commercial and residential developments.
Upon returning to New Zealand, he joined Auckland Council's newly formed Major Infrastructure Team. He was involved with various infrastructure projects, including region-wide roading, railway and lifeline utility developments.
In mid-2015, Mark was offered the opportunity to work at Sentinel Planning with Simon (his former ‘Baby Planner’ colleague at North Shore City Council) and has put his skills to use in helping Simon to grow the company and secure excellent outcomes for their expanding client base. He is now primarily involved with the processing of large-scale residential, commercial and subdivision resource consents for Auckland Council, along with a number of infrastructure projects, including the Auckland Regional Landfill and O Mahurangi Penlink.
Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his family, including 5.30 am rowing drop-offs, hearing all the latest Harry Styles gossip, playing ‘The Game of Life’, singing the ‘Manatee’ song, and cooking pancakes. He also dreams of owning a Honda NSX!
