Monique Way
Junior Planner
Monique joined Sentinel Planner in 2021 as an intern from the University of Auckland's Urban Planning bachelor programme. Quickly identified as hardworking and eager to learn, she was promoted to be Sentinel Planning's Junior Planner.
Monique understands how urban planners play a critical role in shaping New Zealand's environment – economically, environmentally, socially and culturally.
At university, she relished exploring how towns, cities and public spaces impact lives and using critical analysis to address real-world issues and implications of urban development.
Monique enjoys improving and enhancing people's properties and being able to secure a green light for new developments. She has gained significant insights from working alongside Sentinel Planning's highly-experienced Senior Planners.
Monique likes socialising with friends and trying out new brunch spots outside of work. She is a competitive sportsperson and plays premier hockey and cricket. Monique has become captain of Sentinel Planning's lawn bowls team. Along with keeping fit at the gym, you can also find her at the beach during summer.
